(1 Day / Relaxed) - Intro to California Riding

When:   Daily all year around - weather permitting

Description:   This is a 1 day tour that will introduce you to the amazing riding and stunning scenery that is California riding. Almost immediately after leaving our facility you will be on scenic back roads winding your way over the mountains to the coast where we will spend the day riding back roads and visiting eclectic small towns. The riding is easy and relaxing with occasional challenging sections to help you sharpen your skills. Two up riding is very enjoyable on this tour and the groups are typically small.

(2 Day / Aggressive) - Adventure Touring / Santa Rosa BMW Ride Series

When:  May through October

Description:   This is a series of weekend rides sponsored by Adventure Touring and Santa Rosa BMW that will explore some of the fantastic local roads perfect for your adventure touring bike. Free and open to all riders, but group size is limited so we ask that you reserve a spot by emailing info [at] advtouring [dot] com or by submitting a Motorcycle Tour Reservation form. An adventure type motorcycle - think BMW GS, Triumph Tiger or Suzuki VStrom - is highly recommended as we will be riding on tight, twisty mountain roads with dirt and gravel sections. It will be up to the individual riders to make hotel reservations, but we will be recommending hotels and making reservations for dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning.

(3 Day / Aggressive) - Northern California Back Road Blast

When:   May, June, July, August, September, October & November

Description:   This is a spirited 3 day ride on amazing roads ranging from open coastal sweepers with incredible views to tight, technically challenging mountain passes. The ride starts in Santa Rosa, moving north along the coast, east through Lassen Volcanic National Park and back through the Sierra mountain range. This ride is aggressive and fast paced, perfect for the experienced rider looking to spend long days in the saddle and cover some incredible roads. We typically have very small groups on this tour but this one is not a great choice for two-up riding due to the pace and the roads.

(3 Day / Relaxed) - Northern California Redwoods

When:   May, June, July, August, September, October & November

Description:   This is a relaxed 3 day ride that focuses on the majestic redwood forests of Northern California including; Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Del Norte Coast & Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parks and Redwood National Park that together comprise 45 percent of all the old-growth redwood forest remaining in the world. Of course any tour of the redwoods would not be complete without a trip down the Avenue of the Giants in Humbolt Redwoods State Park - a sight not soon to be forgotten.  On the way to and from the parks, you will be riding on some of the best roads in the world and riding along some of the most scenic coastline in America.  This ride is relaxed and moderately paced, perfect for the rider looking to get away from the hectic pace of life and relax in some incredible surroundings. We typically have small groups on this tour and it is a great choice for two-up riding for the rider with a minimum level of two-up riding experience.

(4 Day / Experienced Riders Only) - Scouting Rides for Santa Rosa BMW Rides

Description:   This is a series of 3 to 4 day motorcycle rides with Adventure Touring that we use to scout new routes around Northern and Southern California for the Santa Rosa BMW shop rides. Free and open to all riders, but group size is very limited so we ask that you reserve a spot by emailing info [at] advtouring [dot] com or by submitting a Motorcycle Tour Reservation form. An adventure type motorcycle - think BMW GS, Triumph Tiger or Suzuki VStrom - is required as we will be riding on everything from highways to tight, twisty mountain roads with dirt and gravel sections. No formal agenda or destinations, accomodations will be decided on the fly, widely varying conditions and terrain so experienced riders only.

(7 Day / Aggressive) - Pacific Coast to the Sierra, The Best of California Riding

When:   May, July & September

Description:   This is an incredible 7 day ride on amazing roads ranging from open coastal sweepers with incredible views to tight, technically challenging mountain passes. Similar to our 3 day Northern California Back Road Blast, just more of the same. The ride starts in Santa Rosa, moving north along the coast, east through redwood groves and national forests to the Sierra. The ride continues south through the mighty Sierra, exploring back roads and the occaisional fire road, and heads west back to the coast and then to Santa Rosa. This ride is aggressive and fast paced, perfect for the experienced rider looking to spend long days in the saddle and covers some incredible roads. We typically have very small groups on this tour but this one is not a great choice for two-up riding due to the pace and the roads.

(7 Day / Aggressive) - Winter California Desert Tour

When:   January, February, March & April

Description:   This is a spectacular 7 day tour starting in Santa Rosa and traveling south on the Pacific Coast to Santa Barbara, taking advantage of the famous California winter weather. From Santa Barbara through a succession of National Forests, we will pass through Palm Springs and explore the incredible Southern California desert terrain for 5 days before returning to Santa Barbara and ultimately Santa Rosa. This challenging and spectacular winter tour is for the experienced rider only. You should be comfortable riding in varied conditions, including rain and low temperatures, and the destinations/routes will vary due to the weather.

(7 Day / Relaxed) - Lassen to Yosemite: The Beauty of Northern California

When:   June, August & October

Description:   This is a relaxing 7 day tour that explores the beauty that is Northern California. Starting in Santa Rosa and and going north on the rugged Pacific coastline, the tour then winds through the mountains and redwood groves to Lassen Volcanic National Park, Lake Tahoe, spends two days exploring the wonders of Yosemite National Park and then back to Santa Rosa. The ride is easy and moderately paced, perfect for any rider comfortable spending a full day riding. This tour typically has mid-sized groups and is a great choice for two-up riding assuming the rider has experience with a passenger on the back.

(7 Day / Training) - RawHyde Adventures Offroad Training & Ride

Description:   Join us for a 7 day excursion to Southern California for off road riding training at BMW's West Coast Training Center - Rawhyde Adventures (www.rawhyde-offroad.com). This ride will be offered approximately twice per year when RawHyde runs their Level I and Level II courses on the same weekend. Level I: Intro to Adventure is suitable for riders with little or no experience riding big adventure bikes off road and Level II: The Next Step is for those riders that have completed Level I. The ride leaves the Santa Rosa area early the first day and heads south on Route 1 along the scenic Pacific coast, arriving early evening for the RawHyde intro dinner. After two days of training, we will head out for 2 1/2 days of riding in the Southern California Desert and stay at Base Camp Alpha, RawHyde's Mojave Desert camp. Arriving back at RawHyde's training facility after the BCA ride, we will relax for 1/2 day and then head out in the morning for a ride back up the coast. There is no charge for this ride, but you supply the motorcycle (or rent one of ours and RawHydes!) and pay for your expenses and training.
